After effects 17.1.1 won't open on Windows

Everytime I try to open after effects it won't get past the white screen after the initial loading box finishes. Basically freezes when trying to open up the workspace and access projects.

Try reset the Ae preferences:

Press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) while launching After Effects. You can release the Alt or Option key when the splash screen appears.

To reset preferences and plug-in cache at the same time, hold down Control-Shift-Alt (Windows) or Command-Shift-Option (Mac OS) while the application is starting. Release the keys when the splash screen appears.

Did you try byroncortez's suggestions? Did it help? If it didn't, we'd need more information so that we can troubleshoot the issue properly:

1. Are you on macOS or Windows?
2. Does it crash when you try to open a project? Are you able to create a new project?
