After Effects 17.5 doesn't start

Freezes on initializing Media Core. After downgrading to 17.4 the same things happens and now I have no access to After Effects at all.

Without any specific system info and other details nobody can tell you much, but start by actually cleaning out the various Adobe program folders manually, check your CoDecs in the system control panel, update your drivers, reinstall the program with adequate user privileges. Most liekly simply some botched configuration data or incompatible CoDec got stuck.

As found on another similiar situation orientation,

I renamed the /MediaCore folder to /MediaCore.disabled

Then I restarted AfterFX. It took forever but it ran correctly

(with no 3rd part effects). Even the real-time preview that wasnt

working properly before.

 

Then I re-enabled the /MediaCore folder.

It now takes 'just' around two minutes to start AfterFX, but it does.

 

If someone still has better options, I'll appreciate.
