hello!

I'm completely new to AE, I've been wanting to use it on my new laptop but I've noticed when I import the audio it laggs a lot (goes all glitched and slow, and jumps around), and when I add effects to the media it also previews at very low framerate, even when I preview on quarter.

my specs are:

AMD Ryzen 5 3500U 2.10Ghz with Radeon Vega Mobile (Intergrated) Graphics

8GB Ram but only 5.95GB usable because the graphics use up 2GB.

Any suggestions on how to solve this? Would an older version of After Effects work better?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

edit: I'm using Adobe After Effects 2019
