After Effects freezes

Hi,

i word with AE on the machine for several generations of AE.

After the update to AE2020 it starts, but e.g. after creating a text layer and typing 2nd character, AE freezes. 

to be exact: Not the whole AE freezes, but the preview-area becomes white and empty.

Config:

Win10 (current)

FirePro W2100 (just updated to most current drivers)

currently there are no 3rd party-products installed. There have been RedGiant, but i uninstalled it,because i thought, that might be the problem. But: Same effect without rg, too

Any ideas?

You may need to spend some time digging into your graphics driver's settings. Otherwise simply disable hardware-acceleration in AE in teh respective places such as the preferences, preview settings, comp viewer settings.

I cleared the perferences (SHift-Alt-Ctrl) and now it works again.
