After effects render to .mov will not play in QuickTime

I have redndered a small file in After Effects and output the file using the standard format (.mov) however the final rendered file (.mov) will not open/play in quicktime (message: the file isn't compatitble with quicktime player)

Have you tried to play the file by VLC media player? If VLC media player can not play it, the file is corrupted. You need to render it again if so.
