Animation Question

Hello!

I am new to after effects and am learning techniques throughout this summer. I have attached a clip that I would like to animate specifically, I would like to attach and track animations to the bomb seen in the clip. What techniques would I need to learn to do this?

Could be as easy as attaching a pre-composed layer with a simple 2D point track. the rest we can't know since we have no idea about what animations you plan on creating. That aside, such "Which buttons must I push?" won't get you far. No offense, but you have to commit yourself and learn the basics as well as techniques you may not even need for a given project. AE is a complex program and features interact on many levels in sometimes unforeseen ways. Having a fundamental understanding how AE "ticks" can avoid frustration and misunderstandings.
