Applying style to portion of text via Expression?

I was very excited about https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/expressions-text-properties.html#the_style_object

But I'm not seeing how to change style of a single word in a text layer. Without that, this is 99% less exciting.

Is there any way to change the font/color/etc of, say, a single word in a text layer via expression??
