I want to learn how to use After Effects and was wondering if anyone had some tips on how I start? We use Premier and Photoshop extensively in creating videos for YouTube and for Streaming content and I wanted to integrate After Effects into these projects. Any ideas? Are there any good manuals or tutorials anyone can suggest? I learn better by reading/following along with a book and then doing in the program as the lesson or tutorial progresses, if that makes any sense. Thanks!

The most efficient way to start is to look at the User Guide Adobe provides on the Product page.
The most important thing to know about After Effects is that it is NOT a video editing app. It is specifically designed to put together visual effects, composites, and motion graphics that cannot be produced in a Non-Linear Editor. Most of your comps should be one shot. My average comp is under seven seconds.
