Can't split a line of text in two without losing top & bottom

Creating some simple lower thirds in AE, using a template.

The template has one line for the person's name, and another name for the person's job title.

When I try to split the person's name into two lines, the top of the first line and the bottom of the second line are cut off and I can longer read the entire name (see photo).

I can't seem to fix this in any of the layers or in the Font box.  

Any help?
