Hi, I'm using After Effects 17.1.1 and Media Encoder 14.3, since I work with these versions the computer slows down so much that I can't keep working while Media Encoder is working.

With previous versions and older computers I've never had this problem...

These are the specifications of my computer:

Processor:
AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz BOX

Motherboard:
MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon WIFI

RAM:
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 32GB 2x16GB CL16

Video card:
Zotac Gaming GTX 1660 SUPER Twin Fan 6GB GDDR6

HDD:
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB SSD NVMe M.2 (for OS and Software)

Samsung 860 EVO Basic SSD 1TB SATA3 (for AE cache)

Check your task manager and free up some of your cores by unassigning AME from them.

And what exactly are you rendering? What effects have you applied? How many layers are you using? I understand you have an excellent system with good features but I have learned that After Effects sometimes cares little if you have too complex a composition. If it is something simple then you really have an issue, after following the suggestion of Mylenium and in case they do not work you could try to clear the preferences of After Effects because sometimes a little bad configuration makes the difference.

It happens to me all the time, whether the composition is complex or not...
