FX Broken (After Effects on Mac)

I was creating a Spider-Man Video and added an .mov effect. It was working good, things were placed right and everything else. But when I went to edit it, ALL FX won't appear on the Video I'm editing. Even when I add New Effects, doesn't appear.

I currently have effects and my IMG_9580.MOV File, which is the original video. I placed my effects on-top of IMG_9580.MOV, shown above. Being that I'm a novice and I'm also 13-years old, I'm guessing I'm just doing something wrong. 

Please Help as SOON as possible.

If I'm adding effects to a layer and nothing happens, the first thing I would suspect is that the effects button is turned off.
