I don't normally work with 3D files. Is there a way to take a 3D object and import it into After Effects and still be able to move it around in 3d?
Currently working with After Effects CC 2018.
That would be Cinema 4D Lite/ Cineware that comes with Ae or third-party plug-ins like Elment 3D.

you will have to export your max files into formats (fbx, obj, etc)

I tried again, and I think I must be missing something.. I exported my Text as .fbx, then went file import, and my dfbx file is grayed out..not selectable..
