Hello,

I've spent hours trying to solve a problem converting the same colour from Illustrator to After effects!

They are both in RGB (sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
Illustrator Settings:
Document colour mode RGB
Color Settings: (sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
Assign profile > Working RGB (sRGB IEC61966-2.1)
I even select Edit> edit colors > convert to RGB
Save > CMYK DESELECTED INBOX

After effects project settings: (sRGB IEC61966-2.1)

Can anyone help me? Why are the colours coming out darker on after effects?

Thank you!

Are all of your colors coming in darker or just some of them? If it's just some of them, is it possible that those layers are locked? Edit Colors > Convert to RGB only runs on selected layers that aren't locked. You shouldn't have to enable color management in After Effects when everything works correctly.

To confirm, in Illustrator can you bring up the color picker with Shift+Click on the color swatch of one of the problematic colors and confirm that it's RGB?

Long and short: You are not using any actual color management. Arbitrarily assigning profiles is utterly meaningless without a suitably calibrated monitor and actually using proof preview in AI. Just leave CM out of the game entirely and use the defaults for video work. Otherwise you have ta whole lot of reading to do how CM actually works and set it up properly.
