Layers not visible in AE

Hi there can anybody help me to understand why these layers are not visible? I'm not using the shy tool and as you can see on the screen shot they are actually visible on the left side of the time line.

I guess it was a bug. I moved the layers on top of the others and now they are visible. Might be an issue with my graphic card?

800+ AI-layers each with motion blur? Of course this can mess up even the most beefy graphics hardware.
