Hello!

I'm currently putting lyrics on top of a song video I'm doing. I plan to change the text, fade on, wait the duration it needs to wait for, and fade off in a iterative pattern but for different text.

I realise that this is a tedious process and given that I will likely do this again in the future, I need to find an efficient way to get around this.

My question is, is there a way to get a script or expression of some sort where I can make the process easier in some way?

Many thanks for reading

There is any number of utility scripts on AEScripts.com from three years back when kinetic type was all the rage. other than that feel free to use animation presets as best as you can. Everything else is kind of pointless, anyway, given that the actual layouts can change drastically just by switching fonts or using different letters. You will always find yourself manually tweaking things even if one were to cook up a ton of expressions. In fact many automated solutions will even fail for the simple fact that reading times differ from word to word or basic principles of animation like anticipation and exaggeration will definitely affect the timing. You know, you could put text on screen timed to the nano-second by a script or expression and it will look like garbage whereas a sloppily manually timed text will just look organic and natural...
