morph shapes are too random

Hello there,

I am doing my first steps in After effects and i’m trying to morph these 4 shapes.

As you can see in the result below, the transition made between shapes is extremely complex considering that the original shapes are pretty simple:

I tried to fix it adding more shapes (steps) between them, but I have the same problem… 

Does anyone can help me with this problem?

I think you should draw the first, then add a keyframe and make the second, third and forth using the same shape object. Just play around with the points. That way, you can choose what goes where.
