motion tile fx application error ???

every time i try to apply motion tile fx the elemts not separated no gap between them as i expected is there away to create uniform space between elemts

Motion Tile is based on the original layer size. If the layer has a mask then all the edges of the mask must be the same distance from the layer edge. 

 

Your cropped screenshot tells us nothing at all about how you have set up the comp or the layers you are having problems with so this is the best advice I can give you.
