Without specifics like system info, info about the project, footage details and so on nobody can give you an exact answer. Typically this simply boils down to inadequate hardware acceleration and/ or discrepancies in file format support across the programs. Likewise, stuff could simply be blocked, be that due to security settings, user permissions or simply one of the programs not having access to the cache and temp folders. A million reasons why it may not work. Only more info may offer some clues on what to tweak and which knobs to turn.
