Playback on timeline takes forever - low performance while playback

I am using after effect 2019, my system specs are :

cpu : i9 9900k 

ram : 64gb

hdd : kingston ssd 240 gb

gpu : amd rx580 4gb

i am creating a video fractal patterns, no fancy plugins used. but still can't see anything on timeline, that is playback is a horror to me, i have to wait for 20 sec when i click to zoom in. 

and this happens with normal video editing as well which include, basic, glow treatment, glitches etc.

But rendering projects is fine. It renders the projects happily, so its all trail and error for me. 

I have a few projects in hand pl help to find out whats wrong.

Sorry for your issue.

Would you mind telling us the exact version of After Effects you're using? Are you getting this issue in all the projects? Also, could you share a screes recording that shows the issue? It'll help us to understand the issue better.
