Hello everyone,

I need to duplicate a pre-comp but for some reason, the duplicate appears different from the original.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you in advance!

When the text is generated with expressions or some animator, there is a randomness involved. This random uses a so called "seed" which controls the random-pattern. The seed changes evertime you alter something in order to prevent indentical duplicates.

If you want a identical dulpicate of the comp, you need to understand how the zeros and ones are generated. If you would show us, we might can help. If it's a random expression, it's nothing more than setting the same seed ( = some number) in the code.

random (2,6);

will give you a differnet random pattern each time called.

seedRandom(1,false);

random(2,6);

will give you always the same random pattern, namely the random pattern of seed no. 1.
