Premiere sequences in after effects don't sync up with proxies

I have sequences in Premiere from 6k files and created ProRes proxies, which work great in Premiere.  I imported the sequences to AE, and attached the proxies created for Priemere to each sequence.  When I toggle the proxies on and off in a composition, they're not synched with the source footage as they are in Premiere.  Thanks in advance.
