preview going black whenever pausing

everytime I pause the preview it goes black. I made sure caps lock is off, deleted cache, and I cleared my preferences. I am using a FX-8350 paired with a GTX 1060 with plenty of RAM. 

if someone has a solution to this I would appreciate any help.

Thanks for reaching out. I see that you are getting preview related issue with After effects.

Is it happening in all the projects? What's the version of the GPU driver that is installed on your system? We've observed other users having similar issues with the latest Nvidia GPU driver (version 442.92). Try to roll back the GPU driver if you are using the latest one.
