ProRes 422 HQ Render Issue

Hi Everyone,

For the work that I do, any rendered content has to be split before it can be played out. Workflow-wise, this means that everything is built into a Master Comp, but we render from Export Comps that are certain sections of the Master Comp. In working on content, we've noticed an issue with ProRes 422 HQ as the output codec when it comes to the way it is rendering color from out Export Comps. For example, take a Master Comp that has to be split vertically, where one Export Comp is the top half of the Master, and the other is the bottom half. With ProRes 422 HQ, we're seeing a shift in color between the two renders, the top render appears to be the correct color whereas the bottom render is slightly darker. We've been able to isolate this issue within our pipeline to ProRes 422 HQ. We know it is for certain an issue with this codec as everything appears correct with ProRes 4444 (see the attached image for the comparison). However, we're trying to avoid switching all rendered content to ProRes 4444 as the render times would increase exponentially with the size of content we're having to render. I wanted to post this issue to see if anyone else is having a similar issue or knows of a solution to get 422 HQ working normally. We're running AE on Macs.

Thanks!
