Shift Key No Longer Working For Proportional Resizing

Hi all,

In my after effects project, I was previously able to hold down my shift key when resizing shapes/objects or a cluster of shapes/objects to ensure they were scaled down or up proportionally. However, today, I am no longer able to do this. None of my settings have changed for after effects -- I am still able to do it in all other adobe applications (e.g. illustrator).

I've looked through the previous answers on this forum and none of them have worked for me.

Any suggestions? I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling, restarting my computer, etc.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind sharing the following information?

  1. What's the exact version of After Effects you are using: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/faq-how-to-find-the-exact-version-of-after-effects-you-...
  2. Are you on macOS or Windows?
  3. Have you tried resetting the Preferences of After Effects?
  4. Is it happening only when you resize? Does it work if you create a new shape or move objects?

Let us know, we're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu
