Stroke still visible on a transparent composition. How to remove?

I've been putting together a write on effect for a logo animation and want to export it with a transparent background. I've just noticed that once I remove the solid colour BG from the comp, the stroke outlines are still visible. When exporting the project using RGB + Alpha the strokes are still visible on the export and the letters write on over the top. Is there any way that I can hide the stroke from the comp? I've attached an image of the project which should show what I mean a bit better.

You need to copy & paste the masks to a clean solid or something and animate your strokes on there. You are rendering them on the original PS artwork. Always separate your steps.

Thanks. I've tried importing one of the letters as a PNG and copying the mask onto it then animating with the stroke. However the issue still remains despite using a PNG image instead of the PS layer. Is there anything else I can try?
