In after effects after clicking add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue, the composition never gets added to the queue.

When clicking 'Import After Effects Composition' in AME, it displays 'The project could not be opened."

Please make sure that your After Effects and Media Encoder have the latest updates. If they are not the same version you may run into this.

Hello Rob,

They are both on the 2020 update and there are no updates available in the Creative Cloud app.

Sorry but systemsvh is correct, both latest updates don't work when exporting from AE to AME or importing AE comp with AME. There's a Dinamic link error.

I've downgraded to AME 14.0.4 and AE 17.0.5 and  it works.

I've have exactly the same problem!

Everything worked fine a couple of weeks ago, bit now my projects don't seem to import into AME from AE. (Either using the 'add to media encoder render queue' from AE, or loading the .aep file directly into AME.

Strangly, a brand new project (with a test solid and text) worked. It was all my older projects.

Currently on AME v14.1 and AE v17.0.6

I will also try and downgrade and see what happens....

Yup - Downgrading to AE 17.0.4 and AME 14.0.3 also worked for me too!

Same problem here, followed the answer to downgrade and it worked.

Adobe should correct this asap, I hope.

I'm now using:

Same issue here. Downgrading to AE 17.0.5 and AME 14.0.4 helped. Unfortunately I missed my deadline because of this. Feels great to pay for the software and be a beta tester at the same time.

Nope, that's why I came here to find an answer. Looks like I have to downgrade to earlier versions.
