I want to make an animation of a spaceship flying across the ocean with the exhaust from the ship leaving behind a foamy water trail in it's wake. Anybody know of a tutuorial or template in AE that's available that can do it? I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

Can you add a screenshot, so we get an idea of your design and how the whole scene should work?

How realistic???

After Effects comes with a very limited set of particle systems, but there are lots of ways to generate displacement and patterns. You can also integrate stock footage. Is your ocean shot static or is if from a moving camera. To be really convincing you'll probably have to invest in some third-party plugins like the Trapcode Suite or Boris FX, but if you show us a screenshot of the ocean footage or post a link to the video we can probably get you started on some kind of displacement and wake effect.
