Why does the animation path mess up instead of going from A to B?

I'm just animating a position of an object- it's simple. But instead of going from position 1 to 2 to 3, it wobbles. I tried selecting the different options in graph editor but it's not fixed. So annoying. Screenshots attached. As you can see, the graph shows the animation path deviates in the middle.

Thanks for reaching out.

I understand how annoying it could be. Whenever it happens to me, I use Separate Dimensions and then adjust the X and Y graphs individually.
