air install issues on mac 10.6.4

I can not get Adobe Air to install.  I run the installer and it says succesfull install and then it errors with this message.

an error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.

I am the administrator on this machine.

Please let me know if anyone has an answer.

Thanks Chris that worked like a charm.  Now if next problem is I can not get the air app to install.  It keeps saying that the installer is corrupt.  this is what Console is spitting out.  Any Ideas?

That's odd, error code 1090 looks to mean malformed XML, not something we've ever seen with an AIR installer.  Is it possible to get a copy of the installer so I can try it out on my end?  Please feel free to email me at ccampbel@adobe.com.

I got it figured out. needed to repair my mac os disk. I had some bad file counts and once they were fixed it was all good.
