Downloading AIR has problem in certain countries

We are having problems getting our AIR project installed in certain countries.

The worst example is the Philippines where it has never worked.

What happens when it fails is that the download progress gets to 50% and then stops and never restarts.

The only way to solve the problem is first download AIR from the Adobe site.

Then you also need to download Flash Player from the Adobe site or it still hangs - even though Flash is installed in a browser on same computer.

Once you've done that, the application downloads with no problem.

In some countries it never fails and in others it works sometimes.

Anyone have any idea what the problem is?

That's odd that this is just happening in certain countries.  In the past we've had issues with certain characters in path names, particularly user names, but we believe this has been fixed.  This sounds more like firewall/dns issues trying to auto-download the runtime.  Is this occurring with a badge install?  Any chance we could get some of the failed installer logs?

Thanks,

Chris

Will ask our engineers Monday about download log.

To me though, it looks as though some of your mirror servers do not pass control back to the originating server properly.

That's why everything works fine if you download each item separately.

And it explains why it works sometimes in some countries - depends which mirror you get - and why it never works in other countries - they always get the same mirror.

I doubt it's a firewall issue as we have tried on several different computers in each country.

The only thing that is unique in each case is the country.

We have been operating with the problem for several months, but since we found a way round it, as explained in previous post, it's not urgent or a big problem. Nevertheless, it would be nice to resolve the issue and have everything work as designed.

FYI our server is at Crystaltech in Phoenix.
