Workers on mobile is definitely on the agenda. However, it would take some more time to get a handle on that and commit something to you folks.

Hey Romil,
any news on workers for iOS?
Not expecting a precise date. But at least an estimate. <1month? 1-2 months? 3-6 months? Or >6 month?
We're working on a quite large project that would massively benefit from the use of workers.
Thanks for letting me know. A rough estimate would do!

"If" everything goes well, you would see a beta of workers on Android very soon (1-2 months).
iOS is however tricky. I honestly don't have any dates, and this is not something that you would be seeing soon. We are putting in our best effort, but ahead-of-time compilation workflow doesn't seem to be very friendly with workers
We will keep you guys posted. Hope that helps.

Wish you best of luck figuring it out with iOS then!

You want workers on the Android? We are still waiting for workers on Windows to work as expected. We are hopeful that Adobe will get around to completing this effort, although currently Adobe still hasnt integrated workers into ADL, nor have they fully integrated shared memory into workers. Yes ByteArray has the shareable property that allows it to be shared between workers, but the memory isnt truly shared yet, due to the extreme performance lag when trying to use a shared ByteArray.
There are still crashes that occur when we try to use workers on Windows with Adobe AIR 3.8, so we have stopped using workers altogether, until they are integrated into ADL and until we can stress test them have witness the stability.
As an ActionScript fanatic I am very hopeful for workers on mobile devices, and I am hopeful that Adobe will stabalize workers on the desktop platforms.
I have been very curious about when workers might be implemented Android/iOS. So I did some estimations based on previous releases of the ActionScript runtimes. So here are the dates from the past:
Feb 2012: ActionScript Dolores announced (3.4/11.4 with workers)
July 21: 3.4/11.4 Beta with workers
Aug 21: 3.4/11.4 Released
Oct 8: 3.4/11.4 patches released (support for workers was pulled out by Adobe, because of bugs)
Nov 6: 3.5/11.5 released with support again for workers.
June 18 2013: 3.8/11.8 beta fixed memory leak for workers
July 23 2013: 3.8/11.8 released
It took Adobe 9 months from announcement to implement workers on desktops. From 11.4 Beta to now has been 13 months, and workers are still in a "primordial" state.
So just a prediction that Android/iOS will likely not see workers beta until March 2014. (This is simply a prediction, based on Adobe's previous effort towards workers.)
We are doing business planning and we are not expecting Adobe to finish workers for mobile until at least a year from now, September 2014.
