Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1?

Hello everyone,

I have an installation issue with Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.

I know it probably is because of the Intel x86 processor.. but I thought Adobe fixed that already...

Adobe AIR now supports x86 Android

Basically all it tells me is Unknown error code: "-24" when installing from Play Store.

I tried force installation via .apk file, by creating one off my Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5, but it just says "Application did not install".

I am actually wondering how you guys got it to work, as in other parts of this forum people have got it working.

Model numbers:

GT3: GT-P2510

S4: SGH-i337M

S5: SM-G900W8

Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem.

Absolutely clean out of the box Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

Try to install Adobe Air 14

First time - Corrupted package fiel (or something like that)

Each subsequent time - Install error -24

I thought this update was supposed to work on Galaxy Tab 3 being X86 based?

Please help

Cheers

My issue is the exact same as yours.

First, it shows me a corrupted file issue..

Then, in subsequent tries it shows me -24..

My Tab 3 is fairly new, got it as a Christmas present last year and I haven't really installed much apps to it..

All the apps it has is just PS Touch, SwiftKey, some office apps, and 2 or 3 games..

Any Adobe Techs out there?

OK I have some good news and bad news.

Good news for me because I got my application running on Galaxy Tab 3 10.1

The bad news first.

You can not currently install Adobe Air on Galaxy tab 3 10.1.  Perhaps Adobe will do something about this.

The good news.

I recompiled my application and embedded Adobe Air (an option I did not know was there) and it now runs on Galaxy Tab 3 10.1. Yay.

Currently I have embedded the older version 3.2 which as others have said, runs a bit slowly (although not as solwly as I would have thought).

I am going to upgrade my development environment to install 14 and will recompile my app and hopefully it will run like a rocket.

Hope this helps some, sorry for the others.

Cheers

Alright, makes sense..

What do you use to recompile and how do you embed it?

Sorry, I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to recompilations, but I write apps lol.

Thanks for your trouble.

There is a option on Flash professional in "Air for Android settings" to

"Embed AIR run time with application" which solved the problem.

Hello Everyone,

If you're facing Error 24 while installing Adobe AIR, please read further. Samsung has recently pushed an update of OS to 4.4.2. Please upgrade to that and follow the steps below.

  •     Goto Settings > Application Manager > Google Play Store
  •     Clear Cache and Clear Data
  •     Launch Google Play and try downloading Adobe AIR now.

-Thanks

Hi Pahup,

Today I bought a brand new Galaxy Tab which I tried to install Adobe AIR onto directly from Google Play Store. I am getting the exact same error as the above users: Unknown error code during application install: '-24'

I tried following your above steps in case it would help, but seeing as it was a brand new tablet, it didn't work as I would have expected.

Please help!!!

Hi,

Thanks for reporting. What is the OS version your brand new Tab carries? Do you see any OS update?

Thanks

Hi Pahup,

Thanks for your response. I had software updates available, and upgraded, but after sending your mail I see that it's still on Android version 4.2.2, which now explains why I couldn't install Adobe AIR.

Will AIR just not work on versions earlier than 4.4.2?

Yes, to resolve error 24, the OS update is required. All the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 x86 devices seem to be receiving the 4.4.2 update, I am not sure why you haven't received it yet.

Thanks
