Can anyone confirm that if you save user data using SharedObjects, when the app is updated through the apple store, the SharedObject is persisted and the user will not lose all their data?

Can you think of any conditions where that data would be lost (eg: app id change, app version change...?)

I believe the app's documents directory is preserved during app updates.  The question becomes where on disk does Flash Player save the SharedObjects?

Yes, the shared objects remain after app updates. My game uses one to store its state, and there hasn't been a problem.

During updating of your app - only Payload folder updated and config files that you can't create or remove. So don't panic

Yes, like others have said above, SharedObjects are not affected by app updates.

The only time that they have been affected for me is when a version of AIR (3.7 perhaps?) introduced a bug that changed the SO directory!  That has since been fixed
