Hi,
At least I know that I am not the only one having problems with this.
As with most people here, I first kept on getting problems when I software had upgrades. In the end, I stopped upgrading because the AIR softwar kept on flagging up issues and then removed the icons from my desktop as if the software was removed.
In the end, because of the constant upgardes I had, I thought the simplest thing would be uninstall AIR and reinstall it.
Big mistake!!
Not only can I not reinstall it, I can't even run the programs I was running before which is costing me time and money
I have downloaded the Windows Clean Up Utility and the AIR does not even show up in the list.
I am the administrator yet even when 'run as administrator', I still get the following message
An error occured etc, etc, Installation may not be allowed etc, etc
I have rebooted my computer so many times that I am about to boot it out of the window!
As this is obviously a common problem, is there a reason why it appears that it cannot be resolved??
Does anyone have any other suggestions before I fast lose the will to live???
Cheers,
Michekke
Hi Michelle, I have also been having serious problems with the message "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator".
I have found a SOLUTION that has worked for me!!! I went on to filehippo.com and searched for Adobe Air, they list all previous releases of the software with direct download links. The first one I tried was "Adobe Air 2.0.2.12610" here is the link,

Hi Michelle,
I'm sorry you're having all these issues with the AIR runtime! I know it's very frustrating. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it quickly. Do you mind pasting or sending me (ccampbel@adobe.com) your AIR installer log? You must "show hidden files and folders" in View settings on your OS to see certain folders.
Windows XP:
Windows Vista and Windows 7 try either:
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Gary and Michelle,
I'm glad you both figured out a solution to your install headaches! I'm curious though, since we haven't heard of issues with the 2.0.3 runtime installer vs. 2.0.2. What OS versions were you using? Where you updating from 1.5.3 or was this the first time you'd installed AIR? Finally, if possible would you mind emailing or posting your installer logs? We'd be very interested to see what error's you were getting so we can resolve this for the next release.
Thanks,
Chris

@twotrucks31,
I tried your suggestion but it didn't help me. I hope that someone can suggest another solution. I hate Adobe AIR.
I think that Adobe should be posting a solution for this program. Their FAQ blames Logitech driver (which I deleted to no avail) and Microsoft Installer. I can't do anything about Microsoft Installer! The problem is Adobe AIR. Did I mention that I hate Adobe AIR?
