Is AIR unsafe like flash?

 

Is it safe for windows? any version of osx? Linux?

 

Is there a portable version (yes i know it is a runtime enviroment)?

No technology is totally safe. The security weaknesses of the Flash Player was mostly exploited by cyber-criminals inserting malicious code in flash web ads, (now they are doing the same with HTML5 web ads). That meant that flash ads (and HTML5 ads) could trick you into installing unwanted code if you interact with them.

 

AIR on the other hand runs outside web browsers and the stand-alone apps made with AIR must be explicitly installed by you. But after that, the app itself could trick you into installing malware.
