I am writing an Air app for the Dell Latitude 10 tablet, running Windows 8 in the desktop mode. The soft keyboard is not showing when focus moves to text input fields. I am setting needsSoftKeyboard="true" on the fields and have also tried calling requestSoftKeyboard(). Neither seem to work. The app is not in fullscreen mode.
My app is inside a WindowedApplication.
The only work-around I have found is to rely on the user pressing the 'show keyboard' button on the task bar.
Other apps, e.g. WordPad, also seem to rely on this, as they don't automatically pop up the keyboard either. I would prefer not to have to do this as I want my app to be full screen with the task bar auto-hidden.
Any suggestion on how to do it?
