Hey all,
I am slightly new to Animate, what I am trying to do is copy a previously made asset (to make sure they are the same size and composition etc.)
However the new (copied) asset keeps giving its new colour to the original asset even though they are called different things.
I have tired copying the asset into a new document, and then moving it back to make it a 'new' asset.
However so far I have had no luck.
I am trying to change the colour of an asset at a particulat keyframe in the animation.
So if there is a different way to do that please let me know
Thank you very much.

I think I have figured out a way to do this.
You have to Break apart the asset before It no longer corrolates to the Original asset.
Select asset/object > Modify > Break apart (Ctrl+B) or Break Apart Symbol to Layer (not yet sure of the difference)
Once the object is broken apart they no longer respond to the original layer.
I hope this helps someone.
p.s. I think I new this previously but it has been a little while since I used Animate.
