Adobe Animate for eLearning presentation?

Advocate ,
Dec 08, 2017 Dec 08, 2017

Don't get me wrong, I have been a professional Flash developer for years on a full time basis. But it's been a too long since I have been using this Adobe tool.

I know things have changed with Adobe Animate since I was a full time Flash Developer.  And this is why I ask this question now.

I am going to be giving a training presentation for a high end software application. Instead of using another application, I'm wondering if Adobe Animate might be a good tool to use for a classroom presentation. After all, it has the ability to use animated objects.

Does Adobe Animate have a slide show option or a publish option that would make it an easy to show such a presentation?

Thanks

Certainly. Animate CC is perfect for this.

I do a lot of e-learning presentations professionaly and of all softwares I have to use, Animate is by far the more dynamic, reliable, and powerful.

Better now with HTML5 output.

You can start going to File > New > Templates > Presentations and choosing one of the templates there (Advanced Presentation and Simple Presentation).

If you have any further questions or help to build your presentation, don't hesitate to ask.

Regards,

JC

you can make a slideshow with animate but it's not a publish option like some older versions had (which i found useless).

Thanks for the input.

So am I correct, in that, the flash plug in is no longer needed and by publishing Adobe Animate to HTML5 Animate will run on all browsers as well as various mobile devices?

yes, that's correct if you create html5/canvas progject

but don't follow the suggestion in the message above or you'll be creating a swf that's not going to work in mobiles and will fail (in other browsers) in the next few years when all browsers stop supporting swfs.

So I can create vibrant animated banners as well that can display in a Dreamweaver website that happens to be Responsive and that vibrant animation will play as long as I publish in HTML 5..... cool!

I wonder how much Adobe Animate is being used in the marketplace today?

that, i do not know.

i still find coding by hand (in a text editor) produces much more smaller files, but with so many users having access to broadband (eg, with mobiles) concerns about desktop users with dial-up is less and less of a concern.  and for animation-rich presentations, animate cc's convenience (imo) more than offset the file sizes.

for more advanced (than using code snippets for basic code tasks), use plain javascript in combo with createJS, CreateJS | A suite of JavaScript libraries and tools designed for working with HTML5

We're going to need a precise technical definition of "vibrant" before that question can be answered.

By vibrant I mean exciting, dynamic motion graphics that might also include audio, but not necessarily.

If you're asking whether Animate has an "Exciting" slider, or a "Publish as Exciting" option, then no, it does not.

Yeah!

If you choose HTML5, you can view your projects inside desktop and mobile browsers and even as mobile native apps using services like PhoneGap and Cocoon.io.

If you choose to go with AS3, you'll have no problem publishing your presentation as a mobile app on your phone (because Animate CC mobile apps use AIR, not the Flash Player).

To view in web browsers, you are going to need to export as a SWF and, like kglad already mentioned, you'll may find some difficulties.

But, alternatively, you can run a SWF or EXE from your desktop as well.
