Adobe Animate going to stay?

New Here ,
Nov 30, 2018 Nov 30, 2018

I know Flash is going away in 2020 but is animate going to still be supported after 2020 also? I am starting a new animation course at the high school and I don't want to teach a course that isn't going to be around.

animate will continue to be supported in the foreseeable future.

it's still very useful and relevant for creating mobile apps and creating html5 apps/websites.

Stick with HTML5 Canvas and you should be OK.

The Flash browser plugin will no longer be supported after 2020. That's it. Nothing else is going away.

It's a good thing you're signed up to take a class on Animate, as it will hopefully clear up this kind of basic confusion.

The OP is teaching the course, not taking it.

For me, Flash is already dead.  My browsers stopped supporting the player plugin last year.

As indicated by others, previously... Animate CC is sticking around for the long haul. No worries.
