In the Preferences dialog box, click Reset to Defaults or press and hold Control+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Animate.

Hi, I'm having trouble coding with Adobe Animate since it ignores modifying the lines of code once I add new symbols in the library. I added a video to show my exact problem in the following link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HOnDQLQQKo
As this video shows, in the code editor I have the line /////console.log("inside_14");/////.
However, after testing the code, in the console panel, the output is "inside_13" (instead of "inside_14"), which is not the right result.
If I delete the folder /////MyFolder////// in the library, then Animate will start saving my coding again. But I need this folder for my work. In general, every time I add a new symbol to the library results in Animate ignoring any new lines of code.
I will be very grateful for any help that I can get. Thanks in advance.

Hi, kglad and thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, it does not help, I still cannot save my work. What I did find out is that the save function will stop working exactly when certain symbols (of images) appear in the library. Also, if I'm testing my file, then these exact images will get corrupted. I did use these same images in other projects and I had no problem at all, so I don't understand what is wrong this time.
I also found out that in this case (when I cannot save and the images are corrupted), Animate will generate JSON files in the images library (usually the images library contains only png and jpeg files).
This bug is a huge bummer for me, I cannot continue working like that. I will be very happy if someone can suggest a solution. Thanks in advance.

create a custom shortcut if you have none now
reset your preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/animate/using/set-preferences.html
confirm that was successful by checking your shortcut fails
if the shortcut fails, did that solve the problem?
if the shortcut still works, return to step 2.

I did a reset to all of the preferences and the problem is still there.
The main problem is that Animate still generates JSON files in the image library. Only when I delete these files the problem is solved, but I have to do that every time I need to test my project. I don't know much about JSON files, but it seems that they are linked incorrectly to the png images. For example, I have a png image whose name is "myProject_atlas_21.png", and then Animate will generate a corresponding JSON file which refers to the image "myProject_atlas_41.png".
Only when I dig into the code and change the names in the JSON files to match the names of the corresponding images, the problem is gone. But I have to do that at every new testing.

Hi, I did add a keyboard shortcut and it did not reset, even after reseting my preferences. To be more specific, I can reset each tab in the preferences (for example, the code editor, the script files, etc), but I didn't see a way to reset all preferences simultaneously.

I already did that, and it does not help.

1. you just stated you didn't see a way to reset all preferences simultaneously.
my previous message shows how. however, it often fails so you need to repeat the steps. that's why i stated:
create a custom shortcut if you have none now
reset your preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/animate/using/set-preferences.html
confirm that was successful by checking your shortcut fails
if the shortcut fails, did that solve the problem?
if the shortcut still works, return to step 2.

I don't see any way to reset all preferences simultaneously. I can just reset each tab individually. I recorded it in the following video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPProyB5q7E.

And I also pressed Control+Alt+Shift when starting Animate, but it does not help either.

I have Acrobat DC, Animate, Media Encoder and Camera Raw installed in Creative Cloud.

they just try an uninstall reinstall:
uninstall animate including preferences using the cc app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html
check for, and if available, update your os
restart your computer (don't skip this)
reinstall animate cc

Hey, is anyone else willing to suggest other solutions? I didn't get the professional help that I needed. Thanks in advance.

using a browser that allows popups and cookies, contact adobe support during pst business hours by clicking here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
click contact us (= cryptic icon in the lower right)
in the chat field, type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human

Ok, so I have managed to solve the problem myself by just renaming the main folder which contains the main content (the fla file, the images, the audio, etc.). I have no idea why this works (maybe it has to do with conflicting names in Animate). Anyway, if someone else has a similar problem, then they can try this solution.

@Yehonatan5EAF Can you please share the sample fla file with which you are facing the issue ? that would help us to investigate the issue.

Hi, I don't think the problem was related to the fla file itself, since other fla files had the same issue. I think it is more related to the name of the folder (which contains the relevant fla files) and its location on the hard drive (folders with a similar name, and at a closed location on the HDD, seem to cause many similar problems in Animate).
