Adobe Animate Video and Updating pat 19.2.1

Hello,

We use a lot of HTML5 Video in Adobe Animate, mostly just code snippets to interact with an LMS. Literally juse using the autoplay feature, pauses, plays. We recently had an employee get a new laptop which had a newer version of Adobe Animate on it, after an hour we debunked it was the newer version of Adobe Animate that was not only making it impossible for them to just pause a video but all the Animate files he opened up would break and not publish properly.

Is this a known issue? We're mostly all on 19.2.1 but usually we updated our Adobe Software freely as there's never been such a catastrophic failure to how our files perform.

I did a quick search and didn't see this anywhere, but it's also a bit different given " HTML5 " and " Animate" are buzzwords not exlusive to Adobe.

Animate 2020 upgrades the CreateJS version from 2015 to 1.0.0, which apparently has a few backward-compatibility issues. Animate 2020 is also, apparently, quite buggy. If I were you'd I'd have laptop guy revert to 2019 and stabilize your entire team on that version until Adobe manages to sort out 2020's problems. I'd recommend 2018 as it's even better, but it's no longer available.

Thanks, I was not aware that the CreateJS changed, this makes a bit more sense.

For sure, we will be sticking to 19.2.1 until further notice. We're currently updating a massive amount of courseware for a client from .SWF to HTML5 and while it was jenky and we hoped to updated to newer Adobe versions that could make it easier, it was quite the opposite when nothing suddenly worked.

This is one of the worst things about Animate with HTML. For every other dev environment Google is your friend; not so much with Canvas development in Animate.
