All my files open smoothly on startup but now they randomly get corrupted

A few days ago, I deleted "RECOVER_" files from my computer and also some images which were part of the files, and then they got corrupted. So I recovered the "RECOVER_ files and today as I was saving them... they got corrupted AGAIN. And now I cannot access some of the files anymore because they keep saying "a problem occured when opening"

Can you guys help me?

okay so tbh this is my friend's files not mine and hes the one needing help just letting you know. anyways not that i know of, but can i show you a corrupted fla so you would perhaps help me fix it?

to fix a corrupted fla:

rename to a rar

open in winrar

repair the rar

rename to a fla

open the repaired fla in animate

that works about 10% of the time

wait. do i rename to test.fla.rar or test.rar?

winrar: test.rar > test_repaired.rar

test_repaired.rar rename test_repaired.fla

ok. also my friend says whether he saves his files at a random time animate tells him that he may need to save his work before continuing, and when he closes/reopens his file even after saying they say error opening the file. why?

also he has some old working files which are his recover files and he keeps renaming them to not have this recover thingy but later they stop working and become corrupted again, how does he fix that?

he also deleted some recover files and images from his pc to free up space now this starts

create a folder on the desktop named fla_folder

create a new fla in animate

use file > save as... > to save project1.fla in that new desktop folder.

close project1.fla

reopen project1.fla

any problem?

he did make a google drive and put the flas inside so he will try downloading one of them and putting them in the folder

update he managed to put one of his files in the folder but when he closed/reopens it has the same "error opening file" problem

also he tries pushing save all so many times and the folder isn't separating his files from the recover files

and the recover files disappear when he closes the program

well he did follow your suggestion like they made the folder and put working files in but when he closed/reopens it has the same "error opening file" problem

assign a custom keyboard shortcut, if there are none.

then use the cc desktop app to uninstall animate and (this is key) remove animate preferences.

reinstall animate 

confirm the custom keyboard shortcut was reset

if it was, retry the save to desktop directory.
