So I'm working on this character sprite for someone, and have been working on it for the past week and a half now. The problem I'm having here is that when I try to open the file, I get a message with "An error occurred opening file (file name)." I had auto recovery on as well, but no recovery was found in my folders. If someone could help me recover this file, it would mean the alot.

Your file is gone, mate 😞

There are plenty of threads here just like yours and they are never addressed by Adobe.

Have a walk to get over the frustration, then do it again. Save copies, have backups and, if you can, use Flash instead of Animate. Flash is not prone to corrupting files and deleting them.
