Animate CC 2019 freezing when I duplicate a MovieClip in 2018 created file

I have large file I was working on in CC2018.

It opened ok in Animate 2019. First thing I needed to do was duplicate a movieclip in. the library. When I rename it and press ok the program just hangs. I tested it in a new file - it works ok - but that isn't much use. I can't start again with a file I have been working on for 8 moths....

Any clues?

going back to 2018 in the meantime.

Can you try the following and let us know if it helped?

Recreate prefrences Re-create preferences

Do a reinstall after uninstalling adobe animate with  Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems
