Considering the fact that Adobe plans to end FlashPlayer support in 2020 what are the plans for it in Adobe Animate CC ? After 2020 will I still be able to open/edit .fla/xfl files that contain AS3 in Animate or will that functionality be removed ?

Adobe hasn't made this known in specific terms - but Animate CC will continue supporting AIR for desktop and mobile - so will still support AS3.

Thanks for the reply I've also found the information about AIR, but I'm actually interested if I'm still able to publish to Flash standalone player. I'm going to update my question.

I mention AIR since you can switch between AIR and FP in an AS3 document in Animate - so AS3 is supported either way... and will continue to be supported. The specifics as to a standalone FP are unknown so we just have to wait until the Animate team says something publicly.
