Animate won't recognise my drawing tablet (Intuos Draw)

Community Beginner ,

I have an Intuos Draw and Animate CC will not recognise it. I have the only driver that works with my tablet installed. Any other driver will screw it up.

My research is showing a necessary windows update.

Can you verify if you have Win updates available? Also try unplugging the tablet, rebooting the computer completely, then plug tablet back in.

Just to be sure, do your devices meet system requirements? Adobe Animate CC system requirements

my computer’s specs do meet the system requirement. I also now realise that I wasn’t very specific in my question. the pressure sensitivity and tilt buttons do show up, and I am able to draw using it. When I check pressure sensitivity and/or tilt, nothing changes at all with the brush.

There are now 2 Brushes in Animate (along with 2 different tween types, 2 different symbol types, and it all get confusing). I'm wondering if you are drawing with the newer Paint Brush Tool or the older Brush Tool. Try pressure sensitivity with the Brush Tool (The icon in your toolbox that does NOT have the little curvy line coming up off the tip).

I'm drawing with the old paint tool, as that is the one that i prefer to use.

Verify that all other Wacom drivers have been uninstalled from your system. In fact, i would uninstall all including your current one and then install the correct one.

Hmmm - it should totally work. Ok, forgive me if this sounds too obvious. I simply can't think of anything else but...

Have you tried drawing with the Brush tool? You actually have to start drawing to then see the pressure sensitivity icon appear in the Toolbox. I wish it wasn't like this but it is what happens. It's a slightly frustrating first-world-problem selecting the Brush tool because the options in the properties panel doesn't appear until a stroke is made. So you have to select the tool, THEN start drawing to see what the brush size and smoothness is to then make an adjustment (if needed) and then delete the stroke you just made to start drawing.

In your case, it may be that you have only selected the Brush tool and have yet to start drawing.

Yes, it appears when i begin to draw. When i select, though, cursor changes from a simple circle, to a circle with a cross in it. When I draw with the pressure sensitivity selected, though, the brush doesn't change size like it should.

Ok. The next thing I'd check is the Wacom driver software. Open that and make sure Animate CC is an added Application. Here's a screenshot of mine...is this what you see?

i just tried to open it and it says a supported tablet wasn't detected. That's wierd. I use a Wacom Intuos Draw and it works just fine.

The plot thickens.

The only reason it should say that is if the tablet isn't actually connected. It's using USB correct? What platform are you on? WIN or MAC? Laptop or desktop?
