if the problem is with that one particular fla, it's corrupted.
you can try to repair by renaming to a rar, using winrar to repair it and then renaming the repaired rar to a fla.
try opening the repaired fla.
and you can check for an auto-recovery file. there's a chance it could be un-corrupted:
for win users, open C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\<animate version>\en_US\Configuration\AutoRecoverFilenames.txt and see if there was a saved file and, if so, check the folder location listed
for mac users, check the folder (for a file with name recover_) where the fla was saved. if the fla wasn't saved, i think you're out of luck, but you can still search your computer for "recover_"
in the future, develop the habit of saving your work periodically with increasing version number appended. occasionally close and reopen the latest version to confirm it's un-corrupted. only then can you safely delete your previous versions.

Many thanks for your reply,
Saving my work periodically is already a habbit, so i have several versions of my different files.
i have been trying the renaming option you're talking about but it still fail.
When opening the app it's ok. the app is responding correcty and fast. but it slows down and stops responding when trying to open an .fla file
when opening the file i need to work on:
the files i need to work on:
Earlier today i've succeeded in opening one file, but it took almost one hour to open
it has been blocking since V23.01... am i the only one with such problems?
i really need to work on these files right now...

yes all the files since v23.01... i have 2 laptops (which fit Adobe Animate requirements) it's extremly slow (more like blocking) on both of them.
plus, my boyfriend has bought a MacBook air M2 yesterday, so we have tryied Animate on it... it is extremly slow too... the only file sucessfully open was a 18Mo .fla one. It took 8 minutes to open the file and the MacbookAir was very hot...
for the 18Mo file, when i try to open it on my MSI GT63 Titan 8rg, it finally opens after 2h (i need to leave my laptop on of course) then i can work normally... the problem is when openning the file

1. you can install the latest and 1 version prior versions using the cc desktop app. you must have a subscription because previous versions are not available with trials. other versions are revealed after clicking file preferences>apps>tick show older apps (at panel bottom).
2. for versions cc 2019 and older, use prodesign tools.com*.
3. for versions newer than cc 2019 but older than one previous version, contact adobe support for links.**

follow the directions (esp, step 1)
save the install file. it may not remain online.

** there are 3 ways to contact adobe; chat, phone and twitter:
chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies, and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.
phone:

twitter:
tweet @AdobeCare
p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative. ie, double check for an employee badge if contacted in the forums and look for an adobe.com domain in the email address if you click reply to an email. then check again and be very suspicious. any other method of contacting (or offering to contact you) is almost certainly a scam,
