AS3 SWF to MP4

Contributor ,

Hi All,

I have a CS5 AS3 Greensock Player 10 SWF movie that is all code on frame 1.

I need to import it to Premiere or After Effects to be my movie intro sequence.

I need to end up with MP4 (H.264) output at 30 fps.

What is the best method to get a high quality import for these programs?

Thanks,

Jim

You'll need to use an external SWF to AVI/MOV converter. You can search google and find those. They essentially run the SWF and capture every frame converting it all into a video. Otherwise Flash can only export timeline animations as you've seen code doesn't export.

Thanks - I was starting to get that impression. It is kind of annoying.

With pure coding being the generally accepted idea for AS3, this is kind of counter to the design philosophy. The media encoder should at least process non-interactive SWF's.

Always a good target for a feature request. If you search these forums you'll see this request has come up dozens+ times. I anticipate this will be a feature of at least After Effects sometime in the future. I agree it'd be really useful.
