Brush Stroke Render Lag

Community Beginner ,
Jul 27, 2018 Jul 27, 2018

When I make a brush stroke, particularly longer ones, the moment I let go it will take a split second to render out the smoothing. If I perform any action, most frequently Undo before it finishes rendering, it gives me a quick loading bar which sometimes gets in the way. Is this a common issue?

Render Example: Imgur

Progress Bar Example: Imgur

Thank you!

Thanks you for sharing the info, and by looking at it we didn't find any discrepancy in the compatibility of your system specs with Animate.

Could you please tell what is the smoothing level yo have set it to?

Also share a screen grab of Edit > Preferences > Drawing window from your animate.

Thanks!

Hi Jomm,

The brush smoothing lag was quite an issue in initial versions of Animate CC, however there has been a drastic improvement in current versions relating to brush and stroke performance.

Can you please provide your system specification like OS version and graphic drivers in use so we can suggest you the next steps?

Thanks!

Currently running Animate on a Windows 10 laptop with a wacom 13HD cintiq. Not sure what exactly to provide in terms for system specs so let me know if this is enough

System Manufacturer: Acer

Memory: 16384MB RAM

Available OS Memory: 16268MB RAM

Page File: 11009MB used, 7690MB available

DirectX Version: DirectX 12

Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics 630

We also tried it on the Wacom Mobile Studio Pro 13" i7 and the lag seems even worse on it

It also does this thing with the stroke before lifting it off the tablet? https://i.imgur.com/bu7HgBr.png

Thank you!

EDIT: Regardling the last bit with the lined preview of the brush stroke, we just had to change the tablets resolution from 200% zoom to 100%
