Can I use pressure in animate to make light or dark brush strokes

Can I use pressure in animate to make light or dark brush strokes? I think it is possible in illustrator but pressure in animate only adjusts the width of the stroke not the darkness.

Yes you need to make a brush to do so or turn on the pressure if you have a tablet.
